I was somewhere in N-prefecture several days ago to watch the Blue Impulse’s aero acrobat show. As you all know, they are very famous for the great show at the Nagano Games held in 1998 and the World Cup Game in 2002. They drew the huge and beautiful Olympic symbol in the air then.

Their Olympic symbol in the sky dates back to the most memorable demonstration at the Tokyo Olympic in 1964. It is well known that the 5 fighters which were essentially for a combat, leaving out the battle spirit, painted the peace symbol far way up in the sky. The fact may tell us that the mission of the air force is not limited to combat but for the engagement of the maintenance of the everlasting world peace.

The aircraft Blue Impulse uses is originally T-4 training plane purely domestically produced converted into the special aerobatics. The characteristics of it are its quick movements and the maneuverability, and the fine blue body as the name of the team shows.
Unfortunately it was a little bit cloudy at that time, and the white smoke they gushed out in the air did not remain very vividly against the gloomy cloud. But every time they showed us the splendid stunt flying, a large number of people gathered to enjoy the performance gave a shout of joy.

The performance may give a great appeal to both home and abroad because the cost for the flight and the maintenance of the airplanes needs the strong and good economy and the performance needs the highest aeronautic technology and the highest skills of the pilots. As the performance of F2, F4 and F15 provided for an emergency is much higher than T4 plane, once those pilots are mobilized with the high-efficient fighters, we may know the result. But any emergency should not come not only to us but to anybody in the world. “Love” trumps “hate.”
